WOW!!! I cannot thank you enough for everything you arranged, and your patience in answering all my questions and concerns as well. We honestly had the most AMAZING trip ever – and it’s all thanks to you!

Everything went perfectly, all the transfers were on time (in fact early), all the hotels were lovely, and the service along the way from everyone was brilliant. The tours were good and covered everything we wanted / hoped to see and had a good range of activities too, it was so nice not to worry about planning things along the way as everything was arranged!

Simply put everything was perfect, the hotels in our view were better than we had expected, and the service at some (the Fondavela and the Punta Marenco) was outstanding – the others I think were just bigger and busier but still really good.

The drivers from Travel Excellence deserve a special mention too – Sadly I can’t remember the name of the driver who picked us up at the airport, I blame the long flight and tiredness, but he was great and explained everything which was super helpful and the water and gift was a really lovely touch. We had David to the airport from the Trapp Family hotel, then Douglas taking us to Monteverde he was really helpful spotting interesting things along the way and suggesting a good stop for a break, Carlos who took us to the boat for Tortuguero navigating some really bad roads and then Jose who took us to the airport, through some bad traffic! My husband is fluent in Spanish so really enjoyed chatting to them all as well.

Please tell your managers I think they have a cracking team working for them!

I intended to get in touch with you much sooner, but I got very involved with family & holiday activities that occur during November & December in the US.

Although more than a month has elapsed since our marvelous Pura Vida experience in Costa Rica, I want to write to express my heartfelt gratitude to you! I sincerely appreciate the hard work and dedication that you (& your colleagues) put into planning and organizing the successful excursions for our group!

You were always attentive and you addressed all my questions and concerns immediately. This was so important to me, as being “left hanging” without a response would have made it very difficult for me to progress with making decisions. I greatly appreciated your timely communication during the long planning process!

The Manuel Antonio National Park tour was extraordinary! We all had such a great time. Our Tucanes tour guide was very knowledgeable, and we were able to see so many small creatures due to his expertise. Our van driver made an impromptu stop when he spotted a large group of monkeys traveling nearby. We were able to enjoy the sight and to take some additional photos. The lunch provided for our group on the van during our return to the hotel was excellent! The sandwiches were delicious. We had plenty of water, which was a particular concern of mine as some of our group were elderly.

Zip lining in the Vista Los Sueños Adventure Park was perfect! The 7 of us had an unforgettable experience. The park is lovely, and our “adventure” was very well organized by the expert zip lining staff. Tucanes van transportation was great.

Thank you, Mau for all the time and effort you expended in ensuring that our events would be successful! You were always ready with information, explanations and suggestions when I needed them. And, you expertly managed our changes and concerns. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with me ~ it was so valuable in helping me make decisions that affected our group.

You are a true professional! It was my great pleasure to work with you!

Hello Mauricio!

We hope you are well and our apologies for not sending feedback earlier. I have completed the surveys on behalf of us all – we had a truly awesome trip and would like to thank you for all your hard work on our behalf. It is difficult to pick out highlights, definitely Selva Bananito and Maquenque, but Trogon Lodge, Rancho N were also excellent – I have gone through each accommodation on the survey!

The wildlife, birds, mammals, etc were fantastic to see, the guiding everywhere was of a very high standard – even our drivers were skilled at spotting sloths, ant eaters etc at the roadside. The different types of forest and vegetation were amazing, the Turrialba volcano walk was hard work (for me!) but the effort in seeing the steaming crater made it well worthwhile. I could go on and on…….but will mention the ziplines!! We all did them and it was great fun, (cold and misty of course!)…..apart from one long one where as a duo, Eddie and I stopped halfway! The wind was blowing us sideways and this acted as a brake on the mechanism…..we were hauled in by one of the team!!

A truly glorious and memorable trip – we have already passed on the name of Travel Excellence to several sets of people, including a couple on the train home from London! We would thoroughly recommend TE to anyone thinking of a visit to fabulous Costa Rica – again many thanks for all your help – pura vida!

Good morning, Mauricio. Just wanted to say thanks again for making our trip memorable. Drivers were excellent, professional, courteous and safe. The hotel accommodations were diverse and made for an interesting and varied experience. We particularly liked ending the tour at Parador. Very relaxing. We also did the chocolate tour at Finca Luna Nueva and that was informative and delicious. All of the tour guides were excellent, very knowledgeable and professional. We got a great overview of Costa Rica on this first trip.

The pace of the tour is perfect for 60+ moderately fit visitors. My husband and I are in our 70’s and very fit. The only day that was a little challenging was the hanging bridges, volcano and waterfall (513 steps!!). We appreciated the hot springs at the end of the day.

Appreciate your help with recovering my husband’s cell phone and getting it to us before we got on the plane… My husband is very relieved!!

After months of planning and booking, about 6 months in advance, me and my family thank you very much for a very memorable vacation trip to CR. I had the opportunity to work with Mauricio and i couldn’t ask for a much better planner than him. He understood my family’s needs and dietary requirements and put together an amazing 10day itinerary which kept the youngest member (5yr old ) to the oldest member (65yr old) happy and entertained.

Be it sightseeing on the Arenal lake to Ziplining across the cloud forest or the night safari in the rain forest to a cultural walking tour of San Jose, Mauricio did an outstanding job.

Another aspect of this itinerary is the excellent co ordination with pickups and drop offs from our hotel to each attraction. Any place we go our reservations were ready and good to go without any wait time. The flow of events were seem less. We felt like royalty at each attraction to have everything set and ready to go when we arrived. 24hr operations team were just an email away and were happy to help us out with anything at any hour. They promptly got back to every email I sent them regarding the itinerary.

We like to travel and have worked with a few travel agents from other countries, by far Mauricio with travel excellence and team are the THE BEST!

Costa Rica 🇨🇷 was amazing to us. Full of warm, welcoming people. We will definitely visit again and looking forward to working with Travel Excellence again.

Good morning, Mauricio!

I’m sending a response for Stan Whiteman on our family excursions with Stevenson and Bernardo. I want to echo what Stan said, our family had such a wonderful time and really enjoyed Stevenson and Bernardo’s company and knowledge – we couldn’t have had better days.

I have written a Facebook recommendation and will write a TripAdvisor review with five stars! I’ve also attached a couple of photos that you can use to show future clients. You’ll also find a short review of each excursion below.

Excursion one: waterfall and rainforest visit

Our family had an amazing time visiting a beautiful Costa Rican waterfall and truly enjoyed all the rainforest tour had to offer. The lunch we had at the Hummingbird Café prior to our tour was some of the best food we had in Costa Rica. The hospitality was also top-notch. We were able to see quite a few sloths, monkeys, tree, frogs, and other local wildlife as well as absolutely gorgeous tropical Rainforest plants and trees. Our tour guide was expert level – if we could do it again we absolutely would. Our driver Bernardo was wonderful and Stevenson our guide, provided us with so much local information. We learned so much. Thank you Jacamar, for a great local experience!

Excursion two: Monte Verde, zip line, adventure, and Don Juan, coffee plantation tour

What an adventure! Our family was able to zip line through the Cloud forest of Monte Verde. Our tour guides were very flexible and allowed us to stop at the Monte Verde Brewing Company for local brews before we were able to visit the Don Juan coffee plantation where we were able to use all of our senses to learn about how coffee and chocolate are processed at the plantation. This was a very long day for our tour guides and they never lost patience with our large family. What an amazing day in an amazing country!

We had a great trip to Costa Rica. My wife, daughter and I all appreciated Travel Excellences efforts to make our trip enjoyable. First, you were very responsive to my inquiries and requests.

The hotels and tours you suggested were all very good. We enjoyed our stays at both Daria Beach and Arenal Manoa. The rooms, food (especially the plentiful breakfasts) and environs were
terrific.

The catamaran ride, waterfalls tour, rainforest, coffee/chocolate tour and volcano hike were amazing. The golf course I played was a lot of fun too.

The Travel Excellence drivers we had were reliable, punctual, and personable. We especially liked Walter, who drove us on nov. 30 and Dec. 4, and Carlos, who drove us to Liberia on Dec. 7. Both made the long drives more enjoyable and comfortable.

I wanted to email to say thank you for your fantastic service. Me and Liz booked to come to Costa Rica for our honeymoon and we had a magical time.

The itinerary was amazing and we got to see so much wildlife and so much of your beautiful country. All of the hotels we stayed in were very good and we got a few room upgrades as it was our honeymoon. All of the staff at the hotels were welcoming and helpful.

You have a brilliant fleet of drivers who went above and beyond to show us and teach us more about your beautiful country. They are all very passionate, kind and knowledgeable.

The guides for all the excursions were also exceptional. Their ability to spot wildlife was amazing to watch. They were also very passionate and knowledgeable about the wildlife and the country itself. I would like to single out Ed who was our guide in Tortuguero for a few days. He was always smiling, funny and had lots of information about all of the wildlife seen and the country itself. Me and Liz did not know what to expect as we had not done a holiday like this before but Ed made us feel relaxed straight away.

Thank you to everyone at Travel Excellence for working hard to make sure we had a wonderful time. Our honeymoon was truly special and we have you to thank for that.
