In the Caribbean region of Costa Rica, there is a protected zone of incomparable beauty that begins near the town of Siquirres and covers approximately 25,000 acres as it descends down the Talamanca Mountain Range. Deep inside this protected zone, perched on the banks of its enchanting Pacuare River, lies the singular Rios Tropicales Lodge.

The Pacuare River has its source in the Talamanca Range and flows approximately 108 km to the Caribbean. It is a popular location for white water rafting, whitewater kayaking and river boarding. The rainforests that surround the river are home to exotic animal species such as jaguars, monkeys, ocelots, and a very large number of birds. The Pacuare River has been recognized as one of the top five most beautiful raftable rivers of the world by National Geographic Magazine

There are two ways to access the Lodge, via rafting or hiking along a trail. The various accommodations are set on the mountainside at varying slope heights, affording fantastic views of the river and the dense rainforest surroundings.
