For 15 years, the Festival takes over the Paseo Colon and Avenida Segunda, two of the main streets of the capital city to fill them with colors, magical sounds and fantastic characters. The event is attended by a large number of Costa Rican and foreign artists who make their presentations in the bets street style theater. In the list of most popular "top ten things to do in Costa Rica" the next December 10, the Festival de la Luz definitely ranks first. The best bands of the country together with lightning floats covered with elaborate details are involved in this traditional event organized by the Municipality of San Jose, which each year further enriches the Costa Rica culture. This year it will be held the XVI edition of the event, which is seen by more than three million people in the country and receives extensive coverage from local media. That is why some tour operators and Costa Rica travel agents take advantage of the Festival attraction to promote strongly the best travel deals to Costa Rica during Christmas time.
