The Pacuare river is one of the top five rafting rivers in the world for its scenery and rapids. Located on Costa Rica’s Atlantic slope, the Pacuare river borders the Talamanca mountain range, home to native Cabecar inhabitants and an incredible variety of wildlife. Anyone in normal healthy physical condition can be part in this adventure; however, swimming experience is needed and 14 year-old is the minimum age required. The rafting distance is 14 miles and it takes between three and a half and five hours to complete the ride, depending on water level. Difficulty: moderate. It includes: Professional bilingual guides, rafting equipment, breakfast, lunch, Operations Center with comfortable open dining area and spacious changing rooms and souvenir store.
