Guided visit in San Jose city and food tasting in the Central Market (B)

Breakfast at your Costa Rica hotel. Guided walk in San Jose downtown.
San José is a small capital, full of details and history, which is well visited by walking around. The different spaces full of life can be found in the artists that explain their art and everything that comes close; pedestrian boulevards where miles of Costa Ricans are mobilized daily, Art Deco buildings and neoclassicals that are discreetly imposed as jewels inherited from visionary coffee growers. It is a city that contains the history of a very young society reflected in its parks, museums, theaters, art galleries and corners. This visit will focus on four fundamental aspects of the Costa Rican society: Peace, Health, Environment and Education.

Founded in 1880, the Central Market has preserved its essence and is one of the best examples of Costa Rican culture and society. This visit will also be a very good introduction to familiarize yourself with the different tropical flavors. It is possible to find a wide variety of tropical fruits and vegetables, medicinal plants, spices, meat, fish and seafood, ornaments and even animals. The Central Market is also known for its sodas (small informal restaurants) such as, for example, the Lolo Mora ice cream shop or the Soda Tapia, both restaurants present in the Market for more than fifty years. This visit is an excellent opportunity to meet the people who work in the market, to smell the aroma of a fresh tortilla, try a delicious guava jam or simply enjoy a freshly blended coffee.
Duration: 3 hours approx.
Schedule: Monday to Saturday, from 8 am and 3pm.
Walk starting point: Morazán Park / End: Central Market.
Includes: Tasting of different products, including coffee.
Recommendations:  Comfortable shoes and clothes, sunblock, umbrella or raincoat during rainy season (from May to November).
