As of August 2014 the admission fees to the protected areas will be incremented. This aims to improve the financial position of the National System of Conservation Areas (SINAC) and to invest in the operational side, as providing equipment to park rangers and making infrastructure improvements such as, trails and restrooms for tourists.
The new fee for foreigners in most National Parks will be increased in US$7,00 per person and in the specific case of Manuel Antonio National Park entrance fee will increase in US$8,50 per person. These increases include tax.
The decree also informed about a different fee for those wishing to visit the protected areas for research and filming purposes and those fees must be consulted in advance to SINAC.
We hope these fee adjustments help to keep protecting our National Parks and to improve the facilities for tourists.
