Costa Rica will host the fourth edition of the International Medical Tourism Congress, which will be held from April 24th to 26th, at the Marriott Los Sueños Hotel, Playa Herradura, Puntarenas.
The organizers have announced that this activity aims to promote Costa Rica as a destination for retirement and healthy life.
The event will bring together approximately 500 people from countries in North, Central and South America, including the United States, Canada, Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Colombia, Ecuador and Argentina.
Companies such as clinics, costa rica hotels, medical tourism entities, insurers and self-insured companies will be present at the congress. The activity will also feature speeches and workshops for the attendants with topics related to Costa Rica for retirement, retirement investing, marketing and medical tourism.
In 2011, the country attracted 48,253 medical tourists and generated revenues of nearly $ 338 million. Some of the preferred medical specialties by the tourist were dentistry, orthopedic, bariatric, gynecology, preventive medicine and plastic surgery. Most visitors come from the United States and Canada.
This Costa Rica meetings & conventions is an important activity and it is receiving support from the Costa Rican Tourism Board (ICT), the Chamber of Commerce of the Central Pacific and the Costa Rican Coalition for Development Initiatives (Cinde).
