Latest generation KLM aircraft already flies to 13 destinations around the world. Designed to offer more comfort, emit 20% less CO2 and produce 40% less noise.

KLM now flies twice a week to the main Costa Rica airports, on Tuesdays and Thursdays since last October 31 with the most modern aircraft in its fleet, the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. This ship has a capacity for 294 passengers, 30 seats in the World Business Class and 264 in Economy, of which 45 are located in the Economy Comfort front zone.

Flight KL759 departs from Amsterdam-Schiphol at 3:25 p.m. and arrives in the San Jose airport at 20:05 hrs., and flight KL760 leaves San José Costa Rica at 22:05 hrs. and arrives in Amsterdam-Schiphol at 3:10 p.m. of the next day.

In addition to being the airline’s newest addition, the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner is designed to provide travelers with more convenience and help protect the environment by consuming 20% less fuel, generating 40% less noise, and produce 20% less than C02, which brings the company closer to the goal of reducing its emissions by 20% by 2020, compared to 2011. A great way to travel while supporting ecotourism.

Also, the aircraft is built mainly of carbon fiber, material much easier to cut and that allows a manufacturing process with less waste.

The Dreamliner is designed to guarantee a better travel experience and offer numerous advantages in terms of passenger’s comfort.

The air in the cabin, for example, is pressurized to an equivalent level of 1,800 meters, much lower than usual. This, added to an optimal control of the humidity of the air, provides greater comfort and reduces the physical effects of the altitude favoring that the passengers arrive more rested to their destination.

On the other hand, the windows are 30% larger and offer a panoramic view. The LED lighting system is designed to help travelers to move more amicably to the new time zones.

On board, the connectivity of customers is guaranteed thanks to the WiFi system available to the plane and that allows customers to connect through their smartphones, laptops and tablets.

The luxurious space in the World Business Class during your flight to Costa Rica

Thanks to its warm and welcoming atmosphere, the KLM World Business Class has been designed to make you feel at home. The distribution of the new seats in the cabin ensures that the customer enjoys their privacy to the maximum. Each chair is independent of the others and has a direct access to the corridor, while also becoming a 2-meter long bed.

Warmer colors, with details in different shades for each seat, and a larger storage space increase the comfort and personal space of the customers. The combination of larger and softer cushions with new and luxurious blankets provides a very cozy atmosphere.

Each seat is equipped with a 16-inch, high-definition touch screen, with the option of using a double screen that allows the passenger to play or chat while enjoying a movie.

Travelling in the Economy Class

Economy Class seats of KLM offer passengers additional comfort. The backrest of the seat reclines 40% more and has an upper compartment, intended for luggage, with a larger space than other aircrafts.

Additionally, each passenger has access to a port where they can recharge their electronic equipment and enjoy Wi-Fi access.

The on-board entertainment system has been renovated and expanded with an 11-inch, high-definition touch screen, and a selection of more than 150 movies and 200 television programs in twelve languages. In these screens the clients will also have access to interactive 3D maps and the Seat Chat service, which allows them to communicate with other passengers who are not seated nearby.

As of October 31, the Costa Rican market will be able to travel to Europe in one of the oldest airlines in the world and in the most modern aircraft of the airline industry. The experience of the flight with KLM between San José and Amsterdam will be an unforgettable memory for our customers, "said, few days ago, Fabio Andaloro, the AIR FRANCE and KLM Sales Manager for Panama and Central America.

As a curiosity, the KLM Dreamliners are called flowers or flowering plants, a typical product of Dutch export. The ten Boeing 787 that KLM currently owns have received names such as Zonnebloem (sunflower), Anjer (carnation), Dahlia, and Lavendel (lavender). The ninth Dreamliner, delivered in July, bears the name of Lelie (Lila) and the last, delivered last August 23, Marguerite.
