According to a study by MasterCard, San Jose is among the most visited cities in Latin America.
By launching its third annual Global Cities Index Target, a ranking and forecast international visitor arrivals and spending expectations in major destination cities, MasterCard announced that the top 10 cities in Latin America will receive 15.4 million visitors in 2013.
At the top of the ranking as the leading city in terms of visitor arrivals is Mexico City (3.1 million visitors), followed by Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo, Lima, San Jose (1.4 million visitors), Rio de Janeiro, Bogota, Montevideo, Quito and Caracas.
San Jose is the largest city in Costa Rica, in fact, is its capital. It’s where most government services and population concentrated. In this area there are many activities, combining different tourism products related to adventure and nature.
For example there are several places that tourists can visit in order to meet both the diversity of butterfly species as the natural history of snakes.
