Day 01: Arrival Arrival transfer from the international airport to the hotel. Night in Sleep Inn Hotel, Standard Room.
Conveniently located in the heart of the capital city, it is an excellent location to explore by your own some of the most important attractions of San Jose, such as the National Theatre, the Jade Museum and the Gold Museum. The hotel offers 86 guest rooms, all rooms are elegantly decorated in a contemporary style and feature noise insulated windows, air conditioning, 25” Cable T.V., telephone, high speed internet access, coffee maker, mini refrigerator, microwave oven, safe deposit box and hairdryer. Room service is available 24 hours with a variety of international dishes. Day 02: San Jose – Tortuguero Early pick up from your hotel. Stop on route to have a delicious typical breakfast. Continue the transfer through banana plantations and learn more about this product. Board a comfortable boat upon arrival to Caño Blanco pier and travel along the Tortuguero canals. Enjoy lunch as you arrive to the lodge. After lunch, visit to the picturesque town, the green turtle museum and the beach area. Dinner will be served at 7 p.m. Night in Evergreen Lodge, Standard room.
It is located only five minutes away from the entrance to Tortuguero National Park. This wild and remote area is only accessible by plane or boat (5 to 6 hours from San Jose). The 55 spacious and nicely decorated rooms all have ceiling fan. This jungle lodge offers a nice restaurant, a bar in front of the lagoon, a nice and refreshing turtle–shaped swimming pool, free Wi–Fi access near the reception, tropical gardens, hammocks to enjoy the jungle and canal views and Spa services.
Day 03: Tortuguero After breakfast, guided walking tour through the trails. Free time before lunch. In the afternoon, visit to Tortuguero National Park exploring the canals in small, open boats to allow a better visibility. Dinner included. NOTE: The order of the tours may change according to weather conditions. Optional night walk (not included in the package) from July to September to see the nesting of the green turtles. Day 04: Tortuguero – Sarapiqui After breakfast, shared boat transfer back to Caño Blanco and then shared ground transfer to Siquirres where you will take a shuttle bus to Sarapiqui. Lunch is included along the way. Night in La Quinta de Sarapiqui Hotel, Superior room.
This is a beautiful cozy hotel has 28 rooms in bungalows surrounded by the tropical garden rich in heliconias, gingers, palms and flowering trees. On site features include a butterfly house, a frog land, lush tropical gardens, an insect’s inventory, a swimming pool and pathways along the riverside. We serve home made food at our open dining room facing the riverside. We take pride in serving delicious prepared food each day. La Quinta is operated by its owner, a Costa Rican family.
Day 05: Sarapiqui After breakfast, enjoy two adventures (Canopy & Rafting) at Hacienda Pozo Azul. The perfect combination for the adventurous person. Includes: Canopy ride, water rafting classes II & III on the Sarapiqui River, instructions and safety rules presentation, first class equipment and certified guides. Night in La Quinta de Sarapiqui Hotel, Superior room.
Day 06: Sarapiqui – Arenal Breakfast in the hotel. Today, you will take a shared ground transfer by shuttle bus from Sarapiqui to Arenal. Night in Arenal Springs Hotel, Standard room.
The hotel has 87 rooms with view to the active side of the Arenal Volcano. Each room is surrounded with exotic gardens; all of them are equipped with air conditioning, ceiling fan, cable TV, telephone, mini refrigerator, coffee maker, safe deposit box and hair dryer. The hotel offers a restaurant, two swimming pools, room service, laundry, internet access and parking lot.
Day 07: Arenal Breakfast in the hotel. Experience the Cultural tour and learn about the Costa Rican’s idiosyncrasy and culture. Experience and learn about the relationship and interaction of the inhabitants with the Arenal Volcano, the traditional way of living, agriculture and its history. Visit a dairy farm that has been working over the last 30 years, learn about the local schools and the educational system. Then continue to the property of a farmer friend; there you will have the chance to try real Costa Rican tortillas or homemade bread, after this visit you have lunch in a local house where you will be delighted with a typical meal Night in Arenal Springs hotel, Standard room.
Day 08: Arenal – San Jose Breakfast in the hotel. Take a shared ground transfer by shuttle bus from Arenal to San Jose. Night in Sleep Inn Hotel, Standard Room.
Day 09: Departure
