Visit to the plantations:
This tour of two and a half hours will take you through coffee, sugar cane, and macadamia plantations, to then see the processing plants for these crops. Coffee is harvested from July to November every year, the sugar cane from February to June, and the macadamia from December to June. If you would like to take part in the work on the plantations, participate in the gathering of coffee beans. |
Horseback
riding through the hacienda:
Ride on mountain trails specially designed so that the striking
views of the plantations and the valley of Turrialba (including
the church, school and soccer field) can be admired. The tour lasts
approximately three hours and includes the equipment for horseback
riding.
Hike in the
primary forest:
Guided by an expert naturalist, be prepared to penetrate a virgin
forest full of plants with medicinal qualities, gigantic trees,
scurrying animals, and learn about Mother Nature's regenerating
and purifying powers. The hike can be done in three hours, but those
who enjoy being in the forest may prolong the tour to four hours.
The entrance fee is included.
Reventazón
river rapids:
This is the most popular river rafting trip of our country and
from the first moment will award you with the unique experience
of the waters of the Reventazón River. The adventure
begins with a series of rapids which will keep you alert to
what is ahead. Lunch included. |

C.A.T.I.E.:
One of the most outstanding tropical and agricultural research stations
at a world level is available to you during your stay in Turrialba.
Its paths offer excellent conditions for bird watching, and the
installations for studying orchids, herbs and other tropical species
are fascinating. Explore this marvelous world guided by a biologist.

Guayabo National
Monument:
This archeological sanctuary is located 19 kilometers from Turrialba
and shows traces of the Indians who inhabited Costa Rica between
1000 BC and 1400 AC, around which time they mysteriously disappeared.

Known as exotic, mysterious, and rather fearsome creatures,
the serpents attract the attention of those who draw near to
observe them and learn a little more about the way they live,
feed, and reproduce. Learn about the important role of these

Kayaking
school:
Carried out in a special serene and beautiful section of the Pejibaye
River in the Turrialba valley, an experienced instructor will teach
you the secrets of this invigorating activity; while you learn,
you have fun. The kayaking equipment is included.
Irazú
Volcano, Lankester Gardens:
From Turrialba visit two of the leading attractions of the province
of Cartago, combined in this tour, to appreciate the majesty of
the daunting Irazú Volcano and observe the beauties of the
orchids in the Lankester Gardens. Includes entrance fees.
Turrialba
Volcano:
Known as one of the volcanoes surrounded by the most affluence of
nature, the Turrialba Volcano seems to observe from its peak the
little town by the same name. This tour is an ideal choice for visiting
a volcano, encountering nature up-close and viewing beautiful scenery.
