Tours in the Southern Pacific Region
Hiking
in the Corcovado National Park: Guided by a naturalist along
the trails of the park, you will be able to enjoy an astonishing
waterfall and a picnic on one of the beautiful beaches of the
park.
Night Excursion: The only way to partake of the true strength and life of the rain forest is by visiting it in the dark. Walking 45 minutes through the undergrowth of the forest, you will arrive to a delightful clearing: Claro del Bosque. Before returning to the hotel, enjoy a fresh cup of coffee, sugar cane drink, and homemade "tortillas" cooked on a wood burning stove in a typical farmhouse. |

Bird watching
Tour: Very early in the morning share the fresh air with the
350 species of birds which have been found in Corcovado. The tours
at the beginning of the morning are perfect for observing the wildlife
of the area. For bird and animal lovers, this visit will be grand
for seeing birds, the famous morpho butterfly, monkeys and other
animals.
Horseback
riding: Enjoy a horseback ride from the rain forest to the majestic
waterfall for a tasty meal of typical Costa Rican foods. Mid-day
tours to one of the white-sand beaches where the scarlet macaws
are easily spotted are also offered.
Visit to
San Josecito: Take the opportunity to visit a beautiful beach
where you will be able to swim and snorkel in a marvelous coral
reef. A picnic on the beach awaits, then a walk through the forest,
to finish with a dip in the fresh waters of a river.
 |
Visit
to Caño island: Located 16.5 kilometers off the western
coast of the Osa peninsula, the island has white beaches, rocky
platforms and cliffs. The existence of stone spheres, tombs
with statues of the same material, gold offerings, and polychrome
ceramic leads to believe that the island was used solely for
a burial ground for important people during the Pre-Columbian
era. It has a coral reef ideal for snorkeling. |
Visit to
the mangroves: Guided tour through the canals of the Sierpe
River and the mangroves. Admire the monkeys, serpents, crocodiles,
anteaters and a variety of birds of the region.
