The Costa Rican Institution of Tourism (Instituto Costarricense de Turismo, ICT), 34 touristic enterprises, as well as 2 sectoral chambers and 2 tourism associations, did participate in FITUR (International Tourism Trade Fair), one of the most recognized and prestigious fairs in Europe.

The Tourism Minister, Allan Flores, said Costa Rica's participation in this important global event is essential for the promotion of tourism and the development of sustainable tourism model driven by our country.

“FITUR is the ideal place for position Costa Rica as a destination relevant to our country as it is mainly the European and Spanish, with the largestmarket of tourists to Costa Rica".

Spain is the European destination for foreign exchange that the country generates, over 60% came to the country in couples, followed by travelersaccompanied by friends, however there was an increase in the last year of tourists accompanied by the family.

According to news agency EFE, the jury praised the professionalism issues regarding the adequacy of the stand to the needs of marketing, communication and promotion, as to the identification of the stand with the image and the product and the level of originality and innovation of its design. This is a fibrous material in which was used a 70% recycled materials as part of the vision of sustainability of the country

The organizers indicated that they valued the ability to create a tropical environment through judicious combination of nature and light, aiming for acozy interior with a very clear picture of what the country offers as a product.
