Finally, the new passenger Liberia´s airport terminal will be open next week. The Daniel Oduber International Airport is the main gateway to the beaches and other Costa Rica tourist attractions in Guanacaste province. The structure means an investment of more than $40 million, and it is expected to create a more efficient travel process for passengers.

According to the Direccion de Aviación Civil (DAC), the state authority related to aviation, the country’s second-largest airport will start receiving travelers since next January 12. The 21.000 square meters of new construction will have the capacity to serve until 1.500 passengers at the same time, which will help to increase the Costa Rica tourism, and will create at least 100 new jobs.

The new terminal will offer a lot of facilities for people who visit Guanacaste for travel vacations, work, or business, and for those who come to San José departing from the north province. Since next week, travel agencies and tour operators could extend its offers because of the new expansion of the airport will mean more arrivals via Liberia.

Now passengers will find 30 new check-in counters, a mini-market, a bank kiosk and a money-changing station, among other service, which also represent better travel conditions for tourist who want to enjoy all Guanacaste attractions through many options included in the wide variety of travel packages and tours available in the market and offered by local vacation hotels.

More travelers also implicate more controls, so the modern terminal has a security barrier wider than the current one, and the new checkpoint is equipped with X-ray machines and metal detectors. In addition, the structure has a restaurant, a duty free store, and some other shopping spaces for passengers to have a good time while they wait to come into the country. The airport is located 12 Km west of the city of Liberia.
