Masquerade ParadeThe traditional festivities of San Jose and Curridabat, one of the biggest Costa Rica tourist attractions during the Christmas and New Year celebrations are very close to start. The fairground at Zapote is occupied by dozens of carousels, stalls, game tents, and even the big bullring is almost ready to bring a lot of real excitement during the holidays, which start on next Sunday.

Zapote will offer a lot of entertainment attractions and other events for a few days, as usual every year. This is an ideal place for family travels, and group tours because people can find things for all family members, and all tastes. The main attractions are the carousels and the traditional bull rides, one of the most popular activities in Costa Rica, especially for the “Toros a la Tica”, an event where a lot of improvised, amateurs bullfighters get into the arena, to face the bull.

The fairground in Zapote, which receives thousands of visitors every day, is similar to a big travelling funfair, with many attractions, including adult or thrill rides, children's rides, and sideshows consisting of games of skill, strength, or luck. In fact, these festivities are in the top of the list of fun things to do in Costa Rica at the end of the year.

According to the Health Ministry the activity already has the official permission to start on next weekend. This year Zapote will have some new attractions like the Crazy Dance and the Black Out, similar to a swing which reaches almost 15 meters upwards. Besides the mechanical attractions, a wide variety of food can be found from common fast food items, like hamburgers, hot dogs, cotton candy, candy apples, and donuts to local street foods like tacos, empanadas and arroz con pollo.

Hundreds of visitors will come from different countries around the world, to enjoy some days of funny and entertainment. A lot of tourists get Costa Rica tour packages and reserve rooms in some hotels in San Jose, precisely in December, to have the opportunity of visiting Zapote, and to attend the bullfight shows.

Zapote will bring tons of funny for visitors, but also they will have to be prepared because the werewolf, Chuky, and the Mummy will wait to terrify adults and children in the Triller House, since next December 25.
