Mangrove Tour Costa Rica

The national day of the protection of the Mangrove will be celebrate this upcoming July 26th in Costa Rica as an attempt to preserve those trees that grow in coastal environments and have a tremendous importance in the ecology.

Mangrove as a word actually was taken from the “Guaraní language” original from the Guarani Indians in Paraguay.  If you come to Central America you need to the tell your Costa Rica travel agents to take you to the coast so you can see several mangrove plants and take advantage of the beautiful, exotic landscape this region has to offer.

Costa Rica is know for their beaches, volcanoes and mountains but if you want to get the real grip of everything nature has to show you here you need to see the mangrove and some other plant that are unique and has a lot of value for the locals.
Costa Rica travel planning mostly avoids these types of landscape but a real traveler and a real nature guy will want to see these types of stuff, especially because about 110 species are considered mangroves and you can’t find them in the Costa Rican Caribbean where the most beautiful beaches and the great nature background combines.

The mangrove grows in swamps, marshes and intertidal areas of the tropics. They are by far one of the most valuable ecosystems on the planet, because they protect shorelines from erosion by wind and waves, plus they are the home of a large numbers of aquatic, amphibians and terrestrial organisms.  All this value is the whole reason why Costa Rica has a national day to it.

Of course plenty of people with no conscience have done everything to destroy the mangrove but in Costa Rica mangrove reforestation is underway with cultivation and help from several institutes who values the nature and ecologic environment of the country.
