| Museum closed two months to upgrade its electrical system |

Museo del Banco Central known as the Gold Museum will be closed completely for about two months (August & September 2011), the closure will be to update the entire building's electrical system.
"This change will enhance the museum's exhibition spaces with art lighting and allow significant savings in electricity due the usage of LED technology, long known for its durability and easy maintenance," said Ricardo Alvarez, project manager of the Central Bank. |
