Most "ticos" are still as warm hearted and friendly as their ancestors. Hospitality, respect and friendship are enjoyed by visitors. In Latin America, Uruguay, Costa Rica and Chile are the most peaceful countries. Considering that these countries respect more strongly the model of government, human rights, the democracy, health, and also little investment in military spending and have a good relationship with its neighbors. Costa Rica fell five places in the world ranking from 26 down to 31 due to the conflict in Nicaragua, after denounce a violation of its sovereignty, consequence of a military invasion of the Costa Rican Calero Island Portillo in 2010. Additionally this low responds to a decline in crime rates. But the fact that Costa Rica is an unarmed nation since 1948 allows it to be in the ranking. Nevertheless this exuberant country aims as one of the most attractive and awesome destination. |
