Costa Rica travel vacation: Canada Airlines to enter Costa Rica’s business PDF Print E-mail

Costa Rica announced an agreement with Canadian Airlines to enter the business in the Central America country as they will provide several services from now on.

If you are planning your Costa Rica travel vacation let me tell you this union will hit the Costa Rican airport in the last days of August.  Apparently the agreement was signed back in 2009 but the Canadian company lasted almost two years in paper work and translation of everything that was in Spanish to English and French.

The president Laura Chinchilla and the Canadian first minister Stephen Harper will be in the opening ceremony to make sure everything goes the right way.

According to the plans you will be able to make travels from Costa Rica to Vancouver in no time. At lest three different Canadian airlines are ready to offer this types of trips but it will also depend on when the Liberia, Costa Rica airport is ready.

"The companies that will generate more resources are flights roam. We hope this agreement will generate more trips to our country and with them, more tourists and foreign exchange, "said the minister.

Costa Rica signed their first agreement with the United States in 1979 and now they have done it with Canada. The ticos also have an arrangement with Colombia and Spain.

Costa Rica travel information: Jet Blue to Offer a New York To Liberia flight PDF Print E-mail

According to the ICT (Costa Rican Institute of Tourism) starting on November there will be non stop four times a week flight from New York to the Liberia airport in Costa Rica, increasing 11% of the capacity in the airplanes from the company JetBlue.

For your personal Costa Rica travel information you should know Jet Blue as an airline has over 60 destinations, in fact Liberia, Guanacaste in Costa Rica will be the 68th destination they offer to their clients. This agreement was approve by the ICT and the Costa Rican government.

Jet Blue already gives their customers an opportunity to visit Costa Rica via the regular Juan Santamaria airport and now they will expand to Liberia, which is one of the places that have the most amazing luxury hotels in Costa Rica

The tourism minister, Allan Flores, said that this is big news for Costa Rica and especially for the foreigners that love to visit the country but don’t want to get in all the trouble that is driving from San Jose to Liberia.

"This flight is of great importance for us. International tourists landing in Liberia Guanacaste will also benefit Monteverde, La Fortuna and Tortuguero, and the Central Pacific,” the minister said Allan Flores.

According to the Costa Rican president, Laura Chinchilla, the country has suffered with the world economic crisis but the government is working to fight back with moves like this one.

"In this first year of my administration we were able to exceed the number of incoming tourists who visited us before the crisis, which is the largest of the last four years. This has been the product of the intensification of efforts to promote these two Costa Rica airports and diversify the tourism offers, which is no longer limited to sun and beach tourism, adventure and ecotourism, but you are also opening up medical tourism an more", Chinchilla said.
