Wyndham Hotel Group opened its first hotel Tryp brand in Central America in San Jose. The Tryp San Jose Sabana, it is four-star, has 98 rooms and it is located near the center of the capital and about 15 minutes from Juan Santamaria International Airport.
"The opening of the first hotel Tryp by Windham in Central America is an important milestone in our growth strategy, it consists in introducing the brand in major cities throughout the Americas," said Mr. Daniel del Olmo, CEO of Wyndham in Latin America.
In the South America, the chain already has 14 hotels with Tryp brand, a line of service for intermediate-high leisure and business travelers, as the company has clarified in a statement.
Costa Rica received the award for Best Stand Design at WTM, the largest fair in the English market. According to the organization, the judges praised the team of Costa Rican stand by the combination of sound effects of rain forest, music and design, which causes the feeling of being in Costa Rica, representing the perfect introduction for anyone who want to know about the destination.
The Tourism Minister, Mr. Allan Flores, mentioned "We celebrate this important recognition and the ICT (Costa Rica Tourism Board) will continue the hard work in promoting the destination in highly profitable markets for the country. This is why we will work together to ensure the effective projection of our destiny in the European market.
UK is the fourth most important market in terms of visitor arrivals to Costa Rica, after Spain, Germany and France.
Air Berlin launches new route between Düsseldorf and Costa Rica
On November 15th 2011, the German airline Air Berlin started its first route to Costa Rica, with a flight between Düsseldorf and the city of Liberia, Guanacaste.
The airline will fly to Costa Rica twice a month, arriving on Saturdays and will have a stopover in Cancun, Mexico. The aircraft used for this new route is an Airbus A330-200 with capacity of 303 passengers.
Costa Rica's Tourism Minister, Mr. Allan Flores, said "this flight is the best example of hard work we have done in terms of promotion and marketing, where the attraction of airlines is a crucial component."
The Costa Rica Tourism Board (ICT) stressed that the opening of this new route is an important key to the country, Germany is the second most important European market in tourist arrivals to Costa Rica, after Spain.

On the other hand, the Guatemalan Tourism Bureau is present at EIBTM with seven tourism businesses: Fishing Golf Incentive Travel, Conventions Bureau Guatemala; Kakaw & Sapphire; Organization SA, Porto Hotels, Quetzal Reason; Tourism Services Central America, SA, which will be promoting their products Golf Tourism, health Tourism, Maya World View Business and Tourism.
The Panamanian Tourism Authority (ATP) will show the real estate boom that is living in the last years the country, and how a business traveler can find excellent business infrastructure, combining their business stay and visits to sites of values natural or other travel destinations.
