| Air Berlin launches new route between Düsseldorf and Costa Rica |

On November 15th 2011, the German airline Air Berlin started its first route to Costa Rica, with a flight between Düsseldorf and the city of Liberia, Guanacaste.
The airline will fly to Costa Rica twice a month, arriving on Saturdays and will have a stopover in Cancun, Mexico. The aircraft used for this new route is an Airbus A330-200 with capacity of 303 passengers. Costa Rica's Tourism Minister, Mr. Allan Flores, said "this flight is the best example of hard work we have done in terms of promotion and marketing, where the attraction of airlines is a crucial component." The Costa Rica Tourism Board (ICT) stressed that the opening of this new route is an important key to the country, Germany is the second most important European market in tourist arrivals to Costa Rica, after Spain. |
