Guayabo Lodge is a lodge at 1500 meters above sea level, set in a rich garden, surrounded by the pastures of a dairy farm. It is at a 2 hour drive from San Jose city and at half an hour from the bustling town of Turrialba. Guests will find various "social spaces" where they can relax, enjoy the panorama and the birds, read or get together with their friends or group. It offers 25 comfortable (Standard and Junior Suite) rooms, with private bathrooms and panoramic views. Because the lodge is at 1500mt, the temperature is pleasantly cool and no fans or air conditioning is needed in this area. The rooms are cheerful, light and well decorated: each in a different way and with their own color scheme. The decoration of the rooms and of the lodge in general, is based on folk art with an emphasis on the nature that directly surrounds the lodge. Local artists have painted the murals in the social areas. La Granadilla Restaurant operates in their lounge and dining areas, offering a choice of dishes from their Sustainable Palette, that include typical costarican dishes, their unique Tropical Fusion Kitchen -and not to forget their "Menu of the Day". This Eco lodge has been designed to embrace the natural surroundings and they have worked within the framework of Sustainable Practices, Bio Tourism and Cultural and Educational Tours from the very beginning.
The hotel is a “Guest House”, - A Caribbean plantation house- designed based on rural Costar Rican colonial architecture. It offers 5 comfortable rooms (3 triples and 2 doubles) Services: telephone in each room with national and international call services, wireless Internet connection, safe box, gourmet Costar Rican Cuisine Restaurant, laundry service, swimming pool, massage service, souvenir store where you will find the products harvested from the Hacienda Tayutic’s plantations (coffee, macadamia nuts, etc.). Also available are arts and crafts made by local artists. As an additional service, Hacienda Tayutic offers the guest the option of discovering the farming methods used at the Hacienda by going to the agro industrial system that is next to the plantations in order to see and taste the typical products that are harvested and processed in the farm such as Macadamia nuts, sugar cane and the coffee. A Stone labyrinth and the unexplainable mystery of the pre-Colombian spheres, views of the contrasting Costar Rican landscapes spanning from Turrialba central zone mountains, to both the Turrialba and Irazú volcanoes and even the Chirripó mountains.
