View from above of the ocotal beachIf you look for things to see in Costa Rica, you have to visit Guanacaste, in the North Pacific Coast. I’ve been here for a few days, and I have seen countless Costa Rica attractions during my stay. I still have a lot of places to go in Guanacaste, and I’ll be updating my blog with things that I do during this Costa Rica adventure travel.

The weather in Guanacaste is perfect from traveling across the province, with dry, sunny days, contrasting the rainy, foggy days in other parts of the country. Even the roads are more friendly, with long, straight parts with good visibility and few vehicles. There are lots of Costa Rica hotels resorts and restaurants across Guanacaste, with many towns having services such as banks, supermarkets, police stations and hospitals.

I visited Panama Beach, inside Culebra Bay. Being so close to the Liberia International Airport, it is one of the most popular spots in Guanacaste, just 5 minutes away from El Coco. Getting there is easy, due to a new road coming from Liberia, so you can travel at any time of the year. Since it is a beach in a bay, the sand is gray and the water is blue, with almost no rocks in the shore line, making it perfect for swimming.

It is surrounded by a deep forest with many different species of trees and plants. Another attractive of Panama Beach is its closeness to the Costa Esmeralda Reserve and the Marino Las Baulas National Park, home to the leatherback sea turtle. Water sports can be practiced at Panama beach, with snorkeling and kayak being the most popular, and the mangrove swamp and the estuary are two of the most popular natural attractions.

Panama Beach is a quiet spot with many Costa Rica hotels, resorts and rentals, also economical accomodation and first-class services, restaurants and stores. The exclusive Four Seasons Resort and its great golf course are nearby as well. I enjoyed my stay at Panama Beach, it is a great place that I recommend including in your next Costa Rica vacation package.
