The Central Valley has a dry season from December to May and the heaviest of the rains fall between August and October. It should be noted that even in the dry season there are some rains, being that the country lies in the tropical zone of the planet. The average temperature is approximately 20°C (70°F) and can descend to 10°C (50°F) in the highlands.
