The Central Pacific possesses the beaches closest to the capital city. Among the most popular are Herradura, Jaco, Dominical and the ones at Manuel Antonio National Park. Hills covered with green forests compose the common
landscape of the area. Some of the characteristics which have made Manuel Antonio one of the places most preferred by the tourists are the white sand beaches, cliffs, rivers, rain forests, the large variety of animal life and the climate.
Upon your arrival (around 9 a.m.) at the Los Campesinos Reserve, a delicious snack will be served and you will be given an interesting introduction to the Quebrada Arroyo village, The Vainilleros Association and the Los Campesinos Reserve. Later, the local guide will take you for a walk on the Mirador El Pacifico Pathway (2:00 hour) while telling about local fauna and flora, and the use of native plants by local people. Part of the adventure will be crossing by the aerial tram through giant trees, then get to the Mirador El Pacifico, from where you will observe the Rio Savegre Valley and the Manuel Antonio Coast. Upon returning, a tasty typical lunch prepared in wood heated stove will be served. After lunch, you will be walking on the Poza de Olivo Pathway (1 hour), crossing a suspended bridge and walking through the Los Chorros Waterfalls to the Olivo Spring for a swim in the transparent natural pools! Included: presentation about the association, hike to the "mirador" through primary forest, hanging bridge, hike to the waterfall, lunch, snack.
The morning tour includes a snorkeling adventure at one of the beautiful snorkeling locations along the coast of one of the local beaches. The afternoon tour is a truly amazing trip for nature lovers who will enjoy not only the experience itself but the breathtaking sunset of the Pacific Ocean. Humpback whales, and dolphins as well as other beautiful marine life can be witnessed on our catamaran tour. On board you will be offered an excellent variety of snacks and natural drinks. These can be enjoyed while navigating along the coast with the ocean breeze and the sun, helping you to enjoy this tropical paradise.
During this 3-hour tour, visitors can feel the thrill of riding on their own ATV in the hills outside Quepos, as the bilingual guide lead them through rustic unpaved roads, giant African palm plantations, cattle farms, and typical towns such as Naranjito and Londres. Then there is a chance to cool off in the refreshing crystal-clear waters of a waterfall. Children under parental supervision are permitted.
Half day of adventure, categories III and IV, recommended for the more experienced rafters. The Naranjo River flows down from the coastal range of Quepos, through a beautiful jungle, and takes you on a trip to sea level, passing farms and palm plantations. Good physical condition is a must. Fruits and snacks included. Operates from May to December.
