While throwing oneself off a bridge attached to a relatively thin elastic cord may not sound like a holiday for most people, Bungee Jumping is making a big splash (pardon the pun) in Costa Rica. Popular with young Costa Ricans and adventure-seeking tourists, the sport is less expensive here than in the U.S.

The sport is really very safe; no deaths or serious injuries have been reported in Costa Rica since 1993 bungee jumping arrived, and all international safety standards are observed.
